
Bradley Sowell

Dr. Bradley Sowell is currently Assistant Professor of V oice at Valdosta State University, where he teaches voice lessons, diction, and serves as one of the opera directors. Previously, he was a Limited-Term Lecturer of V oice and Aural Skills at Georgia College & State University (GCSU) in Milledgeville, GA, an adjunct professor at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and an adjunct professor at GCSU. He also worked as a vocal coach for the Austrian American Mozart Academy in Salzburg, Austria, in the summer of 2023.
Dr. Sowell is an emerging recitalist and operatic singer. His recent roles include Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Buffo in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with the Austrian American Mozart Academy. Other roles he has performed include Sam (Trouble in Tahiti), Sir Roderic (Ruddigore), Dater #12 (Speed Dating Tonight), and Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro). In addition to recitals and operas, he has also been the baritone soloist for performances of Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Orff’s Carmina Burana, among others, with orchestra. He regularly presents recitals across the United States.
He currently serves as the auditions chair for the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, an accompanist for choirs and soloists, and a masterclass teacher and clinician for singers. Dr. Sowell received his Doctor of Musical Arts (Vocal Performance) from the University of Memphis, his Master of Music (Vocal Performance) from the University of South Dakota, and his Bachelor of Music Education (Choral Music Education) from Georgia College.
