January 17-19, 2025 

Valdosta State University is delighted to host the 20245Trumpet Festival of the Southeast. This year's festival will take place at Whitehead Auditorium in the Fine Arts Building. TFSE is an annual regional trumpet festival that brings together students, educators, and trumpet enthusiasts. Events include concerts, masterclasses, new music sessions, and industry vendors. The festival rotates around Southeastern college campuses each year. This year’s festival features Rex Richardson and Caleb Hudson as the guest artists.

Guest Artists 

Rex Richardson 

Hailed in jazz circles as “a standout soloist with the power, range and flexibility to rival Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw,” (DownBeat Magazine, 2014) and in classical as “among the very best trumpet soloists in the world today,” (Journal of the International Trumpet Guild, 2011) and “One of the finest virtuosos of our time,” (Brass Herald, 2018) Yamaha Performing Artist Rex Richardson was named the 2008 Brass Herald International Personality of the Year. 

Caleb Hudson 

Uniting virtuosity and musical sensitivity, Caleb Hudson has carved out a unique space in the world of classical trumpet. A long-standing member of the esteemed Canadian Brass for over a decade, he has captivated international audiences.Caleb, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, earned both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School. The New York Times has praised his artistry as "brilliantly stylish."
