VSU Theatre and Dance Season Memberships On Sale

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University Theatre and Dance season memberships are now available.

The 2015-2016 Theatre and Dance season kicks off with William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” Oct. 1-7 and continues throughout the fall and spring semesters with Deborah Brevoort’s “The Women of Lockerbie” Oct. 22-28, the VSU Repertory Dancers’ 30th Anniversary Concert Nov. 12-15, “Bunnicula: The Musical” Feb. 5-6, Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun” Feb. 18-24, and “Oklahoma!” March 31-April 6.

Season memberships are $80.04 each, or $73.62 each for VSU faculty and staff, including taxes and fees, and may be purchased by visiting the Theatre and Dance Box Office from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building, at the intersection of Brookwood Drive and Oak Street or by calling (229) 333-5973.

“The season membership is widely recognized as the best entertainment bargain in the area — six productions encompassing dance, drama, comedy, and music for one low price,” according to VSU Theatre and Dance. “The membership offers you flexibility in how you use your admissions. Each membership comes with six admissions, but if there is a show you cannot or do not wish to see, you can bring a friend to another performance on the unused admission. Advance reservations are required to guarantee members’ seats at a specific performance. All members receive reminder notices via email or postcard to let them know when to reserve seats for the upcoming production.

“Season members have the satisfaction of knowing they are supporting a quality theatre and dance program. This support is invaluable to the student artists and the community.”

Patronages are also available and range from a low of $150 to a high of $1,000 or more and help provide scholarship dollars to attract top quality students to the VSU Theatre and Dance program.
