VSU Welcomes Brown Scholar, Dr. Halden Morris of Jamaica

Dr. Reynaldo L. Martinez Jr., head of the Department of Adult and Career Education, Dr. Halden Morris, Brown Scholar, and President William J. McKinney

The Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University is hosting Dr. Halden Morris, a Brown Scholar from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingston, Jamaica, during the spring 2015 semester.

Morris is a member of the faculty of humanities and education in the School of Education on UWI's Mona Campus. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in occupational education from Southern Illinois University. His areas of academic specialization include technical and vocational education and training and technology education. 

Morris will provide guest lectures and participate in the instruction of various Department of Adult and Career Education graduate and undergraduate classes. During his stay he will also conduct research on the policies, structure, and implementation of the department's online and hybrid graduate programs. He is available to be a guest speaker for any class at VSU upon request.
