Holiday Helper Tree Turns Children’s Christmas Wishes Into Reality

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University’s Volunteer Services will host a Holiday Helper Tree through Friday, Dec. 12.

The Holiday Helper Tree is located on the third floor of the Student Union inside the Student Life office. It is decorated with 94 ornaments that feature Christmas wish lists for community children who are in need and have been nominated by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lowndes County Inc. and Project Light for Women, a program of the Behavioral Health Service of South Georgia.

All students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are encouraged to participate. The deadline to choose a name is Thursday, Dec. 11. The unwrapped gifts must be turned in to the Student Life office by 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.

Participants who choose a name and return purchased gifts will receive a discount card for the VSU Bookstore.
