VSU Offers Dozens of Summer Camps for School-Age Children

VALDOSTA — During the 2014 summer, Valdosta State University is offering more than 60 fun and educational camps, covering everything from athletics and the arts to science and computers, for boys and girls ages 4 to 18.

 

CAMP DISCOVERY

 

Lego Junior

When: 9 a.m. to Noon June 2-6 or June 16-20

Where: Center for Continuing Education

Target Population: Kids ages 5-7

Cost: $95

Synopsis: Kids will use their imagination to build towers, bridges, castles, and all sorts of creations using LEGOs. There will be group projects, challenges, and competitions.

Where: VSU Athletic Field House

Target Population: Kids ages 5-13

Cost: $100 per person

Synopsis: The camp is designed to teach basic fundamentals of playing football. Coaches will teach all positions.

Target Population: Kids ages 13-18

Synopsis: Players will learn the techniques of the modern hitter including the correct grip and set-up, proper bat path, and explosive lower half mechanics. Players will also learn the proper fundamentals for throwing and taking ground and fly balls as well as proper pitching techniques.
