Golden Key Member Recognition Ceremony to be held Sunday, Jan. 27
VALDOSTA -- The Golden Key International Honour Society chapter at Valdosta State University will host its annual New Member Recognition Ceremony at the Student Union Ballroom at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Golden Key is the world’s premiere international honour society admitting the top 15 percent of college sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Karla Hull, interim vice president of academic affairs. During the event, the chapter will recognize approximately 150 new members. The chapter has also extended honorary membership to Hull as well as Dr. Dacia Charlesworth, Dr. Ellis Beaumont Heath, Dr. Timothy Fort and Justin Yanushefski .
Golden Key International Honour Society was founded in 1977 and now has chapters in more than 390 colleges and universities in the world. Golden Key offers its members exclusiveopportunities and connections through $1,000,000 in scholarships and awards, partnerships with major corporations, career advancement and graduate programs. Golden Key strives to unlock the potential of each of its members by upholding standards of excellence on-campus and beyond. Elevated by three pillars—academics, leadership and service—Golden Key sets the standard for achievement in all three areas. Society members combine integrity and collaboration in all that is done.
