Donate Shoes to Sigma Gamma Rho for Soles 4 Souls Wednesday

VALDOSTA -- The Lambda Beta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority will be hosting a shoe drive in the Student Union Lobby from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m on Wednesday, August 24. This big shoe giveaway will benefit Soles 4 Souls, an organization that has given away 13 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes since 2005.

Sigma Gamma Rho’s vision for this community service project is “Soles for Little Souls.” Inspired by Soles 4 Souls mission to give footwear to people in need regardless of race, religion or class. Sigma Gamma Rho will put their focus on school-age children, with a goal to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes to be given to Soles 4 Souls.

"I believe this event and the Soles 4 Little Souls organization are important because we are changing people's lives across the world, one pair at a time," said Sigma Gamma Rho member Niquisheila Hall.

Bring your new and gently worn shoes for elementary to high school age children to be dropped off in the Student Union Lobby to assist Sigma Gamma Rho in making a difference in the lives of children. The organization will continue to collect shoes for the rest of the month and will be participating in The Happening on Thursday, August 25.
