Meet the Newest Faces of V-State

VALDOSTA -- Six new freshmen will give potential students insight about college life at Valdosta State University during the 2010-11 academic year.

For the past five years, potential students have learned about VSU through online student blogs written by incoming freshmen. The Faces of V-State, chronicles the experiences of each of the freshmen as they adjust to college life. These new scholars give the university more than just a face -- they give it a voice and heart as well.

This year's freshmen experiences are told through the words of Annabelle, an undeclared major from Canton; Krishna, a biology major from Albany; Taylor, an athletic training major from Dunwoody; Cierra, an early childhood major from Kingsland; Joseph, an undeclared major from Marietta; and Brandi, an early childhood education major from Donalsonville.

Last names are kept confidential to assure privacy to the students. The students were selected from a pool of 40 applicants, who submitted essays detailing their expectations for the first year, community involvement, educational goals and reasons for choosing VSU.
