VSU Welcomes Prospective Students to Campus
VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University will hold visitation day
on March 27 for prospective juniors, seniors and their families to
explore the campus and learn about the college’s academic and
social opportunities.
Visitors will take one-hour walking tours, which will feature
residence halls, classrooms, the Student Recreation Center, and the
new Student Union. They also will enjoy a delicious, healthy lunch
in Palms Dining Center, VSU's primary dining facility. Guests can
meet with program representatives from 70 different majors and the
offices of admissions, housing, financial aid and student
life.
Director of Admissions Walter Peacock said visitation days are
important for prospective students inquiring about a variety of
topics. They also allow families to become more familiar with the
campus and its atmosphere.
“Visitation days present several opportunities. Students can ask
questions and get information on admissions, housing, academic
departments and student organizations all under one roof," Peacock
said. "It is also a great day to interact with current students,
other prospective students, and of course our faculty and staff.
You will be able to get a lot done in a short period of
time.”
No reservations or fees are required for prospective students and
their guests to attend a visitation day. Participants should meet
at 10 a.m. at the VSU P.E. Complex, on the corner of Baytree Road
and Sustella Avenue. Parking is available beside the P.E. Complex
or in the Oak Street parking lot. For more information about
visitation days or directions to the campus, visit: http://www.valdosta.edu/admissions/visit.shtml
