All Employees Required to Complete USG Ethics Training
VALDOSTA -- All University System of Georgia (USG) employees must complete the USG Ethics Policy training by March 31, 2009. The policy -- available online at www.usg.edu/compliance/ethics/ -- is part of a three-pronged approach the University System is taking to enhance compliance with state and federal regulations and to promote ethical conduct by USG faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, contractors and members of the Board of Regents.
USG Chancellor Erroll B. Davis, Jr., said the tenants of the consolidated policy were derived from multiple locations, including Board policy, the Business Procedures Manual, and other documents. The Ethics Policy, which contains four core values and 13 tenets, is meant to simplify institutional efforts to identify requirements for ethical behavior at the workplace.
"I fully appreciate that the overwhelming majority of USG employees are committed to ethical conduct in their work, on behalf of the USG and the multiple populations we serve," Davis wrote in a memorandum to USG employees. "Given this commitment to ethical conduct, the USG leadership owes all USG employees a clear statement of the values and expectations to which we all will be held accountable. "
More than 450 VSU faculty and staff members have participated in the training since its release in 2009. The training is available through BlazeView -- http://blazeview.valdosta.edu/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct -- and takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
