VSU Walkers Stride Toward A Cruise
VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University’s Centennial Walking Club
invites faculty, staff and students to lace up their tennis shoes
and walk for a chance to win a three-day cruise for two.
VSU's second annual Walk To Your Summer Vacation Contest requires
participants to walk 210 miles - the distance from Valdosta to Port
Canaveral, Fla. - which is where the prize-winning cruise will
depart. Only one lucky winner will win the free cruise, but a host
of other prizes will be awarded to contest participants during a
celebration in May.
Faculty, staff and students interested in participating in the
contest must join the Centennial Walking Club, a free program
designed to facilitate group or solo walking, and log their miles
walked on the program’s Web site, www.valdosta.edu/finadmin/wellness/walking.shtml
. Only miles logged between March 11 and May 1 will count toward
contest totals. After joining the walking club, participants should
bring an $8 entry fee to the Office of Employee and Organizational
Development, University Center room 3103, where they can also pick
up a free water bottle and pedometer after March 4.
Registration details, official rules and group walking
opportunities are also listed on the Centennial Walking Club Web
site.
