VSU President Visiting Alumni
VALDOSTA -- President Patrick J. Schloss is traveling the
highways to meet alumni throughout South Georgia and selected areas
within metro Atlanta. Tifton is the first stop on the 12-city “VSU
Connections” tour, which begins March 10 and concludes in Brunswick
on April 29.
VSU alumni, family, and friends are invited to attend the informal
receptions to meet President Schloss and reconnect with former
classmates and friends.
“There are so many great stories to be told by our alumni who value
the education they received from Valdosta State and credit their
alma mater for their professional successes,” said Schloss. “Recent
developments on campus allow us to extend our reach in support of
their aspirations. The receptions will help me and others from the
university to forge a stronger relationship with our alumni, friend
and future students.”
More than 33,000 alumni live in Georgia, representing 67% of the
total alumni base. Each year this number grows by approximately
2,000, as students graduate and become productive members within
communities throughout Georgia and across the country.
“The receptions focus on meeting alumni and friends of the
university where they live and work and allows us to keep them
informed about what is going on at Valdosta State,” said John
Trombetta, director of Alumni Relations. “We expect these
receptions to energize our alumni around the state--allowing that
energy to translate into the formation of local alumni chapters and
a renewed sense of pride in their alma mater.”
