Roberts Voted into CoSIDA Hall of Fame

VALDOSTA - Former Valdosta State Sports Information Director Steve Roberts received his profession’s highest honor when he was voted into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame, according to an announcement made by the organization Monday.

Roberts, who joined the VSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007, spent 25 years as the Sports Information Director with the Blazers. Roberts promoted three Harlon Hill Trophy winners, second-most all-time, and one runner-up during his tenure with VSU and worked every football game from when the school began playing the sport in 1982 through the end of the 2005 season.

Roberts served on various CoSIDA Committees during his time as a member of the organization and worked with three national championship programs, including the 1979 Baseball, 2004 Football and 2006 Men’s Tennis programs.

Roberts will join the CoSIDA Hall of Fame during the organization’s annual meetings, which will be held in Tampa, Fla. June 29 through July 2.
