Science Seminar looks at how the Internet will impact lives

Valdosta State University’s Science Seminar will continue with its eleventh installment of the fall semester with a lecture by VSU’s Dr. Zhiguang Xu of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science entitled “Towards a Smarter Internet”. The lecture will be held on November 16, at 4 p.m. in the Powell Hall Auditorium.

Dr. Zhiguang Xu’s remarks will begin with a discussion on the “warriors” like TCP/IP (addressing system for the Internet) and how they work. The remaining discussion will focus on how to improve the performance of the Internet and how tomorrow’s Internet will have even a larger impact on the global society. The Internet will be faster, more secure, available everywhere, and smarter.

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information contact Dr. Blaine Browne at 229-249-4914 or Dr. David Bechler at 229-333-5759 or visit www.valdosta.edu/scisem .
