Metros wins Outstanding Air Force ROTC Cadet award for Georgia

Cadet George Metros, of the Valdosta State University Air Force ROTC program, was recently selected as the Outstanding Air Force ROTC Cadet for the 2005-2006 academic year by the State of Georgia Air Force Association (AFA). Top leadership from Robins Air Logistics Center and the AFA presented Metros the award at the AFA annual awards ceremony, on Aug. 5, at the Museum of Aviation, Robins Air Force Base.

The award is presented annually to the cadet who displays significant achievement in the Air Force ROTC program and in academics. Metros, a senior Criminal Justice major at VSU, competed against 240 exceptional cadets from across the state, including entrants from University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. This year was the second year a VSU student has won the prestigious award.
