The front lawn of Valdosta State University's main campus will come alive with music, games and fireworks the night of August 18, 2006 as VSU celebrates its 100th Birthday. "I extend a special invitation to the citizens of South Georgia and Valdosta State alumni from across the state to visit the campus," said VSU President Ronald M. Zaccari.

The Friday night event will include a parking shuttle service offered at the Oak Street Lot and the University Center.

On Saturday morning, August 19, VSU will play host to the Centennial 5K Fun Run/Walk which will occur spanning the perimeter of the campus. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. in front of West Hall with the race to follow at 8:30 a.m. beginning on Patterson Street.
