Valdosta State University kicks off Science Seminar Series

Valdosta State University will kick off its spring 2006 Science Seminar Series on Thursday, January 26, at 4:30 p.m., in the Powell Hall Auditorium.

Dr. Marc Pratarelli, professor of psychology at Colorado State University-Pueblo, will present, "The Biology of Human Consumption & the Ethics of Sustainability." Pratarelli's presentation, hosted by VSU's Psychology Department, will explain how understanding the biological motivations that underlie consumption and consumerism can help people successfully adopt sustainable economic policies and practices.

Pratarelli's lecture is the first in a series of weekly science seminars, taking place during VSU's centennial year, scheduled each Thursday afternoon through the end of April 2006.
