Televised Valdosta State University Convocation Address to covermajor issues

President Ronald M. Zaccari will deliver the Valdosta State University 2005 Fall Semester Convocation Address on Monday, August 8 in the Whitehead Auditorium beginning at 10 a.m. The President's remarks will be carried live on VSU-TV (Cable Channel 11) and will also be aired on a taped delayed basis at 8 p.m. that evening as well as at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, and Friday, August 12.

President Zaccari is expected to cover a number of major issues, including an update on the Strategic Planning process, campus construction activities and the planning process for the celebration of VSU's upcoming Centennial. Zaccari is expected to comment on his appointment to a national commission charged with producing a report that defines and describes the public university needed in the 21st Century. Zaccari is one of twelve presidents and chancellors serving on the Commission on Public University Renewal and the only president from the state of Georgia. He was appointed to the commission by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), a Washington, DC based organization.

All members of the faculty, staff and VSU community are invited to attend the address which kicks-off the beginning of Fall Semester 2005. VSU fall classes start August 15.
