Valdosta State University to Partner with a German universitythrough the Georgia WebMBA Program
The University System of Georgia and Anhalt University of
Applied Sciences in Bernburg, Germany have joined to use a
web-based platform for online instruction. Valdosta State
University will participate in this global alliance as one of the
five members of the Georgia WebMBA consortium. Under the agreement,
Anhalt and Georgia WebMBA faculty will work together to develop
common projects and teach comparable courses providing Anhalt
students with U.S. business skills and global market skills to
Georgia WebMBA students.
The agreement was signed by Daniel S. Papp, Senior Vice Chancellor
for Academics & Fiscal Affairs for the University System of
Georgia, and Dr. Dieter Orzessek, president of Anhalt University.
?The Georgia WebMBA program has been a cutting edge MBA program
ever since it was put into place several years ago by five
universities in the University System of Georgia,? said Papp. ? The
ground work was laid for the agreement during the summer of 2004
when graduate students from Anhalt University and the Georgia
WebMBA worked virtually in teams and engaged in an exchange program
as part of a global business course.
The Georgia WebMBA program is a cooperative venture of five
institutions within the University System of Georgia: Valdosta
State University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia College
& State University, Kennesaw State University, and the
University of West Georgia. U.S. News and World Report recognizes
the Georgia WebMBA as one of the world's best online MBA programs.
The Georgia WebMBA program is internationally accredited by the
American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In its
fifth cohort cycle, the Georgia WebMBA program attracts students
from all over the United States. For additional information about
