VSU's 28th Annual International Dinner set for Saturday, April 17

The Valdosta State University Society for International Students and the Center for International Programs will present the 28th Annual International Dinner on Saturday,April 17, at Park Avenue United Methodist Church. (100 E. Park Ave, Corner of.Patterson and E. Park Ave). Doors open at 7pm.

The International Dinner was begun 28 year ago as a way for VSU's International Students to share part of their culture with the Valdosta community. It is a celebration of cultural diversity that can be found in Valdosta. Currently there are 236 internationalstudents from 67 different countries attending VSU.

The theme of this year's dinner is ?A taste of Diversity? The dinner will feature dishes from 21 countries including Germany, Belize, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Korea, Japan, Russia, Hungary, Albania, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, France, the Bahamas, Panama, Kenya, Ghana and the Netherlands.

After dinner, students will entertain guests with traditional and modern songs, performances, dances, and skits. Among the performances, there will be two African dances, a Russian dance, a West African and Asian fashion shows, a Tae-kwon-do demonstration, singing and guitar playing. The Garifuna Association of Atlanta will perform Belizean music and dances.

Tickets to the International Dinner are limited and must be purchased in advance at the Center for International Programs located at 204 Georgia Avenue. No tickets will be sold at the door. Prices are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 for children under 12.
