Second Annual Accessibility Expo to be held at VSU

Having a disability can make a simple task complicated, and for the one out of five Georgians with a disability, knowing about the products and services available to them can be vital in enhancing their quality of life. To educate and inform individuals about these services, Valdosta State University's Special Services Program and the Valdosta-Lowndes Interagency Transition Council will sponsor the second annual Accessibility Expo on April 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the University Center Magnolia Room.

Information will be available regarding adaptive technology, educational and employment opportunities and social and sports programs for individuals with disabilities. "The purpose of this event will be to introduce services and products that are available to people with accessibility needs," said Kimberly Godden, acting director of Special Services. "This expo is for students, parents, service providers, educators and anyone who provides support and information to individuals with disabilities."

The public is invited to attend this event and admission is free of charge. For more information, contact Special Services at 229-245-2498.
