Rotary Club to honor former VSU President S. Walter Martin

The Rotary Club of Valdosta will honor Dr. Sidney Walter Martin, by planting a tree in his honor on Oct. 25, at 3 p.m., in front of S. Walter Martin Hall, across from the University Center on Patterson Street.

Martin died on June 2, 2000. He was 89 years old. Martin served as president of Valdosta State College from 1966 to 1978 and was elected president emeritus of VSC by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.
