Cooper joins VSU Cooperative Education office

Terry Cooper of Hahira recently joined the Valdosta State University Cooperative Education Office as a Co-op coordinator.

Since 1996, Cooper has served as a recruiting squadron superintendent at Moody Air Force Base, managing Air Force recruiting efforts. Cooper now matches VSU students with employers for "on the job" educational experiences.

"I like to see students be able to apply what they learn in school," Cooper said. "That's very rewarding to me."

Cooper holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M., a master's degree in human resource development from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., and a juris doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, N.J.

The VSU Co-op Program began in the fall of 1984 under a Title VIII grant from the U.S. Department of Education. To date, more than 1,000 students have gained work experience through the program.
