Valdosta State University Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic

  • The Valdosta State University (VSU) Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic is operated by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and is under the James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services. 
  • The clinic offers hearing evaluations, speech/language evaluations, and speech/language therapy to the community.  Services are provided by graduate clinicians, who are supervised by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.
  • Our 25,350 square foot facility houses classrooms, faculty and staff offices, 11 therapy rooms, a full audiological suite, and a voice/speech science lab.  
  • Therapy rooms feature an observation hall to allow caregivers to observe therapy sessions and a secure closed-circuit television system to allow clinical supervisors to observe therapy sessions.
  • The Clinic schedule follows the VSU academic calendar.  The spring session operates from January through April, the summer session operates from June and July, and the fall session operates from August through November.  No services are offered during the months of May and December.

The VSU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic's mission is to promote excellence in the clinical education of CSD graduate students and to provide state-of-the-art services in the areas of treatment and evaluation to individuals of all ages within the community and surrounding areas.

The Valdosta Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic also continues to meet the department, college, and university's missions of commitment to public service, continuing education, and economic development activities that address needs, improve the quality of life, and raise the educational level within the university's scope of influence.
