VSU Announces Fall 2021 Move-In Days

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University is excited to welcome roughly 2,700 students to their on-campus home away from home during Move-In Days Aug. 4-14.

Early Move-In Days

Early Move-In Days kick off on Wednesday, Aug. 4, and run through Sunday, Aug. 8. This move-in period is primarily reserved for select athletes, campus employees, academic scholars, Blazin’ Brigade members, and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp Detachment 172 cadets.

First-Year Student Move-In Days

First-Year Student Move-In Days kick off at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, with new students arriving on campus every hour till 7 p.m. This move-in period will continue from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Transfer and Returning Student Move-In Days

Transfer and Returning Student Move-In Days run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, through Saturday, Aug. 14.

The Move-In Days process will impact normal traffic around VSU’s Main Campus, especially along Baytree Road, Oak Street, Georgia Avenue, Patterson Street, Brookwood Drive, College Street, and Williams Street as students move in to one of the university’s eight residence halls — Langdale Hall, Georgia Hall, Reade Hall, Patterson Hall, Lowndes Hall, Brown Hall, Centennial Hall, and Hopper Hall.

Dr. Zduy Chu, director of Housing and Residence Life at VSU, said, “There will be less students moving onto campus throughout each day,” which should help lessen the impact to traffic flow on and around campus. He said hundreds of volunteers will help students and families move their belongings into their residence hall rooms, as the university is committed to ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the entire 10-day Move-In Days process.

Fall semester classes start Monday, Aug. 16.
