Community Invited to Offer Input in Search for Next USG Chancellor
VALDOSTA — The University System of Georgia Regents Search Advisory Group will host a series of virtual listening sessions to receive input from students, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees, and the general public on its search for the next chancellor.
The Valdosta State University Blazer Nation family and residents from VSU’s 41-county service region are encouraged to participate in one of the following events:
- 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 4
- 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5
- 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, March 8
Each session will last one hour. Questions and comments can be asked and sent live through the virtual meeting software.
Input on the search can be submitted anytime through an online survey available at http://www.usg.edu/chancellor_search/. This dedicated website features details and ongoing updates on the search.
Chancellor Steve Wrigley recently announced his plans to retire on July 1 after 36 years in public service.
The Regents Search Advisory Group is helping conduct the search with assistance from Parker Executive Search.
In addition to the community listening sessions, the Regents Search Advisory Group will conduct listening sessions with the USG Student Advisory Council, Faculty Council, and Staff Council March 2-3.
