Butler Recognized Once More

VALDOSTA - Wendy Butler was recently named runner-up in the large business employee category in the 2008 World Class Employee Recognition Program sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

Butler serves at Valdosta State University as the senior secretary for the OASIS Center for Advising and First Year Programs. Nominated by VSU’s Council on Staff Affairs, Butler was chosen based on her excellent job efficiency.

In spring 2008, Butler was honored by COSA as the employee of the semester for her excellence in organization and leadership skills.

“She has established a culture of excellence in our department,” Dr. Pat Burns said regarding her honor from VSU, “She has become a mentor to many of the students we serve and she is an inspiration to every individual in this department.”

The Chamber of Commerce recognized Butler and the other nominees on Thursday, Aug. 21, during the Salute to World Class Employees Early Bird Breakfast at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center.
