Registration for Annual JDL Business Plan Competition Opens Nov. 2 with $20,000 in Cash, Prizes
Students from across VSU are encouraged to take part in the third annual JDL Blazer Business Plan Competition. Students are not required to be a business major to enter. This year’s competition will offer a total of $20,000 in cash and prizes, with the Final Pitch Competition set for March 5, 2027.

VSU Welcomes Chemistry Pioneer Dr. Dorothy J. Phillips to Campus Oct. 8
Dr. Dorothy J. Phillips, immediate past president of the American Chemical Society, will share an inspiring story of perseverance, leadership, and scientific impact at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in Hugh C. Bailey Science Center Room 1011 at Valdosta State University. This event is open to VSU community members from all academic disciplines as well as the public.

Kyle Sandoval, a senior from Valdosta, is helping the Valdosta State University Archives and Special Collections team preserve the cultural heritage and history of Brooks County, Georgia, particularly materials housed in the Quitman Brooks County Museum.

Valdosta State University will welcome Colombian anthropologist, artist, writer, and researcher Camila Rodríguez-Calderón to campus for a special Hispanic Heritage Month presentation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Odum Library.
