VSU’s Economic Impact Climbs to $412.5 Million, Supports More Than 3,400 Jobs
Valdosta State University generated an estimated $412.5 million in total economic impact during Fiscal Year 2025, according to a new study conducted by the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. This represents a $27.3 million increase over the previous year and includes the creation of 3,472 jobs both on and off campus.

Class of 2025 bachelor’s degree graduates from a University System of Georgia institution like Valdosta State University are projected to earn, on average, $1.4-plus million more than a high school graduate during their lifetime, according to a new study from the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia. Advanced degrees boost those earnings even more.

VSU Planetarium Presents August Skies, Eclipses, Meteor Showers Aug. 27
The Valdosta State University Planetarium presents “August Skies, Eclipses, and Meteor Showers: Oh My!” at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. Seating for each presentation is limited. Free admission ticket distribution begins as early as 5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis at the VSU Planetarium.
