VSU Professor, Scientist Discusses AI at Café Scientifique March 27
The College of Science and Mathematics at Valdosta State University will present Café Scientifique from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at The Network Coffee Shop. This event is open to the public. Dr. Ahana Roy Choudhury, an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology, will discuss artificial intelligence.

VSU Announces Dancing Stars, Pros, and Upcoming Scholarship Fundraiser
Valdosta State University's Music Scholarship Alliance and Golden Circle Scholarship and Support Fund Board will present Dancing with the Valdosta Stars 2025 at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center. Admission is $125 per person or $1,200 for a table that seats 10 people. Limited $1,500 sponsorship and $2,000 VIP tables are also available. Eight couples — one local “star” paired with one local “pro” — will dance for the Audience Favorite Award and help raise much-needed funds for music, theatre, and dance scholarships.

Valdosta State University will celebrate early literacy development and former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal’s first children’s book from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in Jennett Lecture Hall. This special event is open to the public.

VSU Celebrates Georgia Arbor Day, Announces Plan to Restore Outdoor Beauty
The Valdosta State University community recently gathered to celebrate the planting of a red-flowered crape myrtle. Located in Championship Grove, its primary purpose is to stand as a symbol of endurance, resilience, and perseverance in honor of VSU’s 2024 Men’s NCAA Division II National Championship Tennis team. The tree also represents VSU’s transformation and renewal, as university leadership begins to rethink and rebuild its weather-beaten urban forest after losing more than 1,600 trees to Hurricane Idalia, Hurricane Helene, and other storms.
