The Dual Enrollment Program is the perfect way to begin your college experience at Valdosta State, designed for high school students to receive college credit by taking courses at VSU. Credits apply to VSU and your high school, and there is virtually no cost to the student.

Unlike other Dual Enrollment programs, high school and home school students in VSU’s Dual Enrollment Program benefit from the resources of a major state university, where they can easily transition into a bachelor’s degree program after graduation. The rigor and pace of our classes will prepare you for success anywhere.

Benefits of studying in the Dual Enrollment Program at Valdosta State University

  • Take college courses from award-winning faculty at a major university

  • Ease the transition from high school to college before leaving home

  • VSU courses meet the "rigor" requirements to qualify for the HOPE and Zell Miller scholarships

  • Courses taken as a Dual Enrollment student do not count against the total credit hours HOPE will pay once you graduate

  • Take exciting courses that may not be offered by your high school

  • Take courses during any term on your schedule, whether you're on the semester or quarter system

What classes/courses will be available to students?

Approved courses for Dual Enrollment funding are listed in the Dual Enrollment Approved Course Directory. Approved classes may include degree level or non-degree level courses in the five main academic areas (English, math, science, social studies and foreign language), as well as select elective course offerings. Students can enroll in online courses if the course is on the approved course list. Students should carefully consider whether an online course is a good fit for them before enrolling. The dual enrollment requirements are the same for online courses as face-to-face courses.

Who is eligible to enroll?
